Alabama’s oldest, private, historically black, liberal arts college continues to offer a unique undergraduate educational experience. Talladega College is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Bachelor of Arts degree. The Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.The Teacher Education Program is accredited by the Alabama State Department of Education. Talladega College continues to attract the top five percent of students nationwide, i.e. those who have applied themselves in high school and maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Our diversity is reflected in generations of students who have passed through our halls and realized that one's education doesn't end with a bachelor's degree. Eighty percent of our graduates

A Rich Heritage In 1869, Swayne School was issued a charter as Talladega College by the Judge of Probate of Talladega County. Swayne Hall has remained in service as the symbol and spirit of the beginning of the College.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES The Office of Student Activities is geared toward providing students with constructive outlets for their energies and for relaxation from their rigorous routines. Student Activities provides a range of events/activities designed to enhance the student’s educational, cultural, social and recreational development. The program is also designed to promote personal and spiritual maturity obtained through physical, psychological, and emotional growth. The Student Activities Office is located in the Student Government Association House, 709 Cruikshank Street.
